NIDHAL CHAMEKH

Nidhal Chamekh is a Tunisian visual artist whose work explores contemporary identity and the intersection between the biographical and political. He has exhibited at prestigious events, including the Venice Biennial, and is currently working on a project entitled "Et si Carthage n'avait pas été détruite?" at Villa Medici. The project explores the historical relationship between Rome and North Africa and its resonance in the present day. Through his work, Chamekh aims to introduce Rome's archaeological heritage and the marginalized cultural production of the city's exiles.

NORBERT SCHWONTKOWSKI

Norbert Schwontkowski was a German painter known for his imaginative and enigmatic works. His early expressionistic style focused on the human figure, but he gained recognition in the 1990s for his emotionally charged and surreal landscapes. Schwontkowski's later works explored themes of memory, identity, and the human condition, often incorporating humor and melancholy. He received numerous awards, including the Bremen Art Prize in 2006, and his works have been exhibited worldwide. Schwontkowski passed away in 2013 at the age of 64 due to a bicycle accident near his home in Bremen. Despite his untimely death, his works continue to be held in important collections, and he remains a significant painter of his generation.

Nobuyoshi Araki is a celebrated Japanese photographer known for his boundary-pushing and thought-provoking work, exploring themes of erotism, intimacy, and the human body. He has published over 400 books and gained global recognition for his unique vision and unwavering commitment to his craft. Araki's photography often captures the essence of Japanese traditions, as well as the vibrant Tokyo street scenes of the 1960s. He has authored numerous notable photography books throughout his career, and his works have been exhibited in renowned institutions worldwide. Araki has been honored with numerous prestigious awards for his remarkable body of work.

NIGEL COOKE

Nigel Cooke is a British painter known for his large-scale abstract and figurative works. Born in Manchester in 1973, he earned a BA in Fine Art from Nottingham Trent University, an MA in painting from the Royal College of Art (London), and a Ph.D. in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College in London. Cooke's art style blurs the boundaries between representation and imagination, often depicting ambiguous and dreamlike spaces. He has exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, and his works are held in many public and private collections across the world.
