Biography of Nidhal Chamekh

Nidhal Chamekh was born in 1985 in Dahmani, Tunisia. After completing his studies at the School of Fine Arts in Tunis and the University of Sorbonne in Paris, he now holds a fellowship at the Villa Medici French Academy in Rome, Italy. His current artistic endeavor aims to merge Rome's archaeological heritage with the marginalized cultural expressions of the city's exiled communities, creating a montage that interweaves past and present narratives.

His recent solo exhibitions include "Et si Carthage" at Selma Feriani Gallery (2024), "Nidhal Chamekh" at Novo Projects (2022), "nos visages" at Selma Feriani Gallery (2019), and many more. 

Nidhal Chamekh has also participated in group exhibitions, including "A Convening of Civic Poets" at Kadist Art Foundation in Paris (2023), "Summer Group Show" at Taymour Grahne (2022), "Comme un parfum d'aventure" at macLYON in Lyon (2020), among others.
