Galería Juana de Aizpuru

In 1970, the Gallery was established in Seville with a primary goal to promote Spanish artists internationally while also bringing the global art scene to Spain. To achieve this objective, the Gallery meticulously selected a group of Spanish and foreign artists to form a robust and representative team.

Despite the challenges of establishing international connections during the dictatorship, the Gallery organized a series of diverse exhibitions in Seville throughout the 1970s, featuring artists such as Frank Stella, Diane Arbus, Richard Hamilton, Andy Warhol, Eduardo Chillda, Antoni Tapies, Millares, and Rauschenberg. As a result, the Seville group quickly gained recognition across Spain, but it wasn't until after Franco's death and the advent of democracy in Spain that the Gallery extended its reach abroad.

The Gallery began participating in various international art fairs, including Köln (1981), Basel (1981), ArtChicago, ArtL.A., KunstRai, and later BaselMiami, FriezeLondon, ParisPhoto, Maco, and Frieze New York.
