Alex Hernández

Alex Hernández is an artist who completed his education at the San Alejandro School of Fine Arts and the Superior Institute of Art, both located in Havana, in 2004 and 2010, respectively. He also attended a Documentary Film Workshop at NYU Tisch School of the Arts in New York from 2005 to 2008, and a Film and Video Photography workshop at the International School of TV and Cinema in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, in 2006. In 2008, Hernández was an artist-in-residence of the Christoph Merrian Foundation in Basel, Switzerland. He has received scholarships from the Danish Art Agency in Copenhagen in 2010, and the Peter and Irene Ludwig Foundation in Aachen, Germany, in 2008.

Hernández has held several solo exhibitions, including Season at the Cleveland Art Institute in Ohio in 2012, and Habana – Miami: The Aesthetics of Comfort at the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba in Havana in 2010.
