Galerie Tschudi

Galerie Tschudi: Promoting International and Swiss Contemporary Art

Galerie Tschudi was founded in Glarus, Switzerland, in 1985 by Ruedi Tschudi (6.6.1940–4.1.2019) and Elsbeth Bisig. The gallery was originally established in a former paper warehouse. Three years later, the gallery relocated into an Art Nouveau villa. The gallery in Glarus remained an active location until 2010.

In December 2002, Tschudi and Bisig opened a second gallery in Zuoz/Engadin. This space became the main gallery in 2005.

Another dependence of Galerie Tschudi was opened in Zurich’s new gallery cluster.

The gallery is committed to promoting international and Swiss contemporary art, showcasing established artists and emerging talents. Galerie Tschudi has been running a consistent program for years, primarily with the most famous representatives of Minimal Art, Land Art, and Arte Povera, including Carl Andre, Alan Charlton, Richard Long, Mario Merz, and Hamish Fulton, among others.

Galerie Tschudi also proudly represents the artworks of Bethan Huws, Niele Toroni, Callum Innes, Dan Walsh, Su-Mei Tse, Kimsooja, Not Vital, Julian Charrière, Andrea Büttner, Kemang Wa Lehulere, Katie Paterson and Augustas Serapinas.

The gallery organizes solo and group exhibitions, collaborates with international institutions, participates in art fairs worldwide, and publishes art catalogues and monographs featuring various artists.
